Embotelladora Andina has posted a sharp rise in Q2 net profit. The Chilean company said yesterday (3 August) that income in the three-month period to 30 June leapt to US$17m from US$8.4m in the corresponding period last year.

Sales for the period rose by 16% year-on-year, the company said, to US$186.3m.

"Sales volumes increased 2.5% to 28m unit cases," the company said. "This moderate growth was due to adverse weather conditions in June, and a price increase implemented at the end of the period."
