Anadolu Efes, the Turkish beer and soft drinks producer, has announced a 10.8% growth in first half consolidated sales volumes.

The company, which is listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, said that total beer sales volume was up by 10.9% at 10.2m hectolitres, whilst total soft drink sales volume at 218m unit cases grew 12.2% over the comparable period last year.

In a statement released to the stock exchange, the company said that domestic sales volume of its Turkish beer operations increased by 6.2% in the first six months of this year over the comparable period of the previous year and reached 3.6 m hectolitres.

Including the export volumes, the total sales volumes of its Turkish beer operations in the period was 3.8 mhl, indicating a growth of 4.5%.

"The contraction in the export sales volume was mainly attributable to the slow down of export volumes to Iraq," the company added.

The company's international beer operations, conducted by Efes Breweries
International, saw sales volume increase by 15.2% over the comparable period of previous year and reached 6.4 m hectolitres.

Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Icecek, in which Efes owns a controlling stake, saw sales volume increase by 12.2% and reached 218m unit cases.

In Turkey, sales volumes at CCI hit 174m unit cases in the first half, indicating a growth of 9% over the comparable period of previous year. The company said that the growth was assisted by the positive impact of new SKUs introduced to the market during the first half of this year.

CCI's international sales volume reached 44m u cases in the period, with a growth of 28% over the comparable period of previous year.
