AmBev's net profit for last year has been restated higher to reflect an accounting change prior to its acquisition by Belgian brewer Interbrew.

The company restated 2003 net profit to €480m from a previously reported €389m.

The restatement was included in a document Interbrew published on its Web site in advance of an extraordinary general meeting called for 27 August to vote on the deal.

AmBev's previous financial information has been converted from Brazilian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to the more generally accepted International Financial Reporting Standards.
