Allied Domecq and BBDO jointly announced today that they had agreed to end their partnership effective from the start of Allied Domecq's new fiscal year in September 2002.

This decision follows further development of Allied Domecq's marketing strategy and, as a consequence, the role of the agency in their business, Allied said in a statement.

BBDO Chicago has handled creative responsibilities for Allied Domecq brands beginning with Kahlua in 1998. This was followed by assignments for Beefeater in 2000 and Stolichnaya in 2001.

A decision to reassign these brands will be made at a later date, Allied said.

BBDO is a part of Omnicom Group Inc, a leading global marketing and corporate communications company.
