AG Barr is looking to tap into Spain's burgeoning cocktail market with the Funkin launch

The company said yesterday that it has reached an agreement with Masoliver Grup to roll out Funkin to the Spanish cocktail market. Masoliver, which handles beers, wines and spirits in the market, will be Funkin's exclusive partner.

"We are convinced that the agreement between Masoliver and Funkin will be very successful across the on- and off-trade," said Masoliver Grup CEO Sandra Masoliver. "Funkin products fit well with our portfolio and will open new opportunities for us."

Funkin MD Andrew King said the partnership, which is effective immediately, gives Funkin "the opportunity to break into this burgeoning cocktail market, where we see strong growth potential across our portfolio".

The deal also includes the Canary and the Balearic Islands.

Earlier this year, Barr unveiled its first on-draught cocktails, under the Funkin brand.
