Allied Domecq has renewed an agreement giving Southern Wine & Spirits, the country's biggest wholesaler, exclusive rights to distribute all its wine and spirits brands in South Carolina.

Allied's relationship with SWS is "based on the company's dedication and support of our premium portfolio of spirits and wines, as well as our people," Jim Clerkin, president of Allied Domecq Spirits North America, and Bill Newlands, president of Allied Domecq Wines USA, said in a joint statement. "We are confident SWS will help us grow our presence in the state, delivering maximum return for all parties through a mutually beneficial partnership."

The agreement is part of Allied's ongoing strategy to solidify relationships with distributors and become their "First Choice Supplier." Miami-based Southern is Allied's biggest distribution partner with exclusive rights to the company's brands in eight states.
