Report description

Sales of Wine in Switzerland continued to be influenced by several factors during 2012. One of the most important of these was the high exchange value of the Swiss Franc throughout much of 2012, which resulted in an increase in cross-border shopping trips for wine, to the detriment of domestic sales. The high exchange value of the franc also meant that imported wines became cheaper in comparison with domestic wines, resulting in a higher proportion of imported wines present in the category.
