Total wine volume sales increased by 1% in 2012. The tax raise in January 2012 and subsequent increases of private imports hindered sales from growing more strongly. However, the economic uncertainty and increasing maturity also hindered sales from growing more strongly. The small growth was a result of a growing wine culture in Finland, although this development has settled down and has thus only managed to generate small volume increases the last three years.
