Earlier this month, the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) revealed a 14% rise in the sugar price index from May to June. Seen as a reaction from the market to a predicted shortage in Brazil, an FAO analyst has questioned the immediate and mid-term growth prospects for Brazil's sugarcane industry.
