Britvic is to release new Robinsons flavours

Britvic's CEO has said that the company's Robinsons brand will be a “big focus” for next year as it ramps up innovations across a number of products.

Describing 2015 as Britvic's “biggest year of innovation”, Simon Litherland today announced a new range of flavours for Robinsons as the company strives to maintain its “clear category leadership” for the brand. He also revealed new packaging for the cordial range, supported by a UK marketing campaign.

No details on the flavours or packaging have been disclosed, but Litherland said the company will reveal more during its next interim results report.

Earlier today, Britvic released strong full-year results that saw profits jump by 45% as cost-cutting measures announced last year started to kick in. The company hopes the new launches, which include syrup mixers for alcohol and a J20 carbonated extension, will continue to boost sales in the wake of a failed merger with AG Barr.

Litherland, who was speaking to analysts on a post-results call, said there will also be new flavours for Robinsons Squash'd liquid water enhancers and for the Tango brand, which will also get new packaging.

Meanwhile, Litherland said Britvic, which is the UK distributor for PepsiCo, has no plans to release a competitor to The Coca-Cola Co's stevia-sweetened Coca-Cola Life.

“PepsiCo does have similar products but we have no intention of bringing a product of that nature at this time,” the CEO said. “We don't intend to fight back with anything other than the strategy we have.”
