Brown-Forman will release its third-quarter results tomorrow

Ahead of the release on Tuesday of Brown-Forman's results for the third quarter and nine months of fiscal-2017, here's a look at the events that shaped the three months to the end of January for the Jack Daniel's owner.

In Brown-Forman's half-year results, released in December

  • Half-year net profits slipped by 4% to US$342m
  • Net sales in six months to end of October also fell 4%, to $1.49bn
  • Operating profits decreased by 5% to $504m

While the third quarter of the fiscal year is traditionally Brown-Forman's largest in sales terms, the group will require a monstrous festive period to help catch up with fiscal-2016: It will need to have hit $1.145bn in Q3 to achieve parity with the year-prior.
