Anheuser-Busch InBev will release its results for 2016 on Thursday

Ahead of the release on Thursday of Anheuser-Busch InBev's results for the fourth quarter and the 12 months of 2016, here's a look at the events that shaped the three months to the end of December for the brewing giant.

  • The results for the fourth-quarter will be the first to include SABMiller, after ABI completed its acquisition of the world's second-largest brewer in early-October.

In ABI's results for the first nine months of 2016, released in October:

  • Sales rose by 3.3% in organic terms, but fell by 5% in reported terms
  • Volumes in the year-to-date dipped by 1.4%
  • Net profits on a normalised basis fell by 34% to $3.93bn
  • Normalised EBITDA decreased by 8.2% to $11.5bn

The company will struggle to hit the same level of sales in 2015: A required top-line total of US$12.3bn is required from the fourth quarter, but the quarterly performances during the first nine months of 2016 do not bode well.
