Zhujiang Beer Group is to build a new brewing facility, according to press reports. Citing a company official, China Business News said today (9 September) that the Chinese company, in which InBev holds a 24% stake, will invest CNY400m (US$49.5m) in the facility in the Guangdong province.

The newspaper quoted the company's chairman, Fang Guigan, as saying that the new plant will have an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons. The report added that investment of the first phase of the new site stands at CNY200m, with capacity at 100,000 tons.

Construction is scheduled to begin next month and is expected to be completed in June 2006.
