UK: W&M appoints Easy Whisky's 'Robbo'
Whyte & Mackay has appointed one of the founders of the Easy Whisky Drinking Co. to drive innovation at the UK spirits distiller.
The Glasgow-based group said today (11 September) that David Robertson has joined the company as innovation director. Robertson, Whyte & Mackay said, has "a remit to lead creation of a core brands innovation pipeline and to enhance brand ambassadorial capabilities in the UK and internationally".
Robertson announced his departure from the Easy Whisky Drinking Co last month. Alongside fellow founders, Jon and Mark Geary, the company garnered praise for its role in building the nascent blended malts category with its innovative styles and brand names, including The Rich Spicey One, The Smokey Peaty One, and The Smooth Sweeter One.
Whyte & Mackay announced two more marketing appointments with Thomas Veit becoming commercial marketing director and Mila Violaris joining the company as UK marketing director.
All three newcomers will report to the company's global marketing director Richard Hayes.
The company has won attention from industry heavyweights in recent months after a revamp of its spirits stable led to rising sales.
