The Winebow Group has secured the purchase of Purple Feet Wines, a distributor in Wisconsin in the US.

The Virginia-headquartered group, the result of a merger between The Vintner Group and Winebow in June last year, said late yesterday that the acquisition increases its distribution network to 16 states. Financial details behind the move were not disclosed.

“Mark Bausch and Christopher Weyland, who founded Purple Feet Wines in 1997, have built one of the most successful distribution houses in the state,” said Winebow Group's CEO, David Townsend. "We are thrilled to increase our presence in the Mid-West and look forward to working with … Purple Feet Wines to expand their operations in the Wisconsin market.”

Joe Siler, senior VP for the Mid-West at Winebow Group, will oversee the unit, while Melanie Denhart will assume the role as VP, GM of Purple Feet Wines. Andy Rothbaum will manage the portfolio as director of brand management for the Mid-West.
