AUS: Wine exports up, prices down

Australian wine exports rose 12% during the 2006 financial year but the average price per litre slipped by 9%, according to local reports.
Reports in Australia today (7 July) said that export volumes reached 738m litres for the year ended 30 June. Exports revenues rose 2% to A$2.8bn (US$2.1bn) but the average price per litre fell for the fifth year in a row, reaching A$3.80.
The figures were from the Australian Wine and Brandy Corp. Officials from the AWBC could not be reached for comment.
