US: William Grant & Sons appoints Diageo exec as US finance chief

By | 30 June 2009

Scotch whisky group William Grant & Sons has appointed Diageo executive Ronald Wall as its new chief financial officer for the US and Mexico.

Wall, who is currently Diageo USA's senior vice president for spirits and national accounts, will join William Grant in early July and replace Jim Heaton, the group said last night (29 June).

A reason for Heaton's departure was not given.

Wall will report to both Simon Hunt, president and general manager for North America, and Lesley Jackson, group finance director.

"Ron is an accomplished finance executive with a proven track record and hands-on experience that make him the ideal choice for this important role in our organisation," said Hunt.

Wall has worked for Diageo since the group's inception in 1997.

Earlier this month, William Grant announced that it has appointed Bacardi's marketing head Stella David as its new global CEO.
