UK: Western Wines founder joins Bibendum
Bibendum has appointed an addition to its board of directors.
The UK wine agent confirmed yesterday (17 May) that Roger Gabb will come on board as an executive director. Gabb was previously the founder and chairman of Western Wines, the independent wine importer which was acquired by Vincor in 2004. Western subsequently came under Constellation's control when the wine giant bought Vincor last year.
"This will be invaluable for Bibendum during a period of sustained growth and opportunity," said Bibendum managing director Michael Saunders. "We are delighted to have Roger on board."
Last year, Bibendum teamed up with Lion Nathan, Via Wine Group and The Argento Wine Company to set up a European distribution business. Bibendum Wine International now handles Lion's Petaluma and Knappstein wines, as well as the Via and Argento brands.
