By just-drinks.com editorial team | 22 March 2007
Absolut vodka owner V&S Group has appointed a new chairman.
The state-owned Swedish company has named Anders Narvinger as its chairman of the board. Narvinger succeeds Claes Dahlbäck, who has retired after holding the position for 14 years.
A V&S spokesman said today (22 March) that Dahlbäck had tried to step down two years ago but was asked to stay on to oversee the transition of Bengt Baron as the company's president and CEO.
Narvinger is director-general of the Association of Swedish Engineering Industries and former CEO of technology group ABB Sweden.
V&S is at the centre of speculation surrounding its future with the Swedish government looking to privatise the company.
