US: Vintage Point joins Washington wine market
Vintage Point has entered the Washington state wine market after signing deals with four boutique wine producers.
The California-based sales, marketing and consulting company said today (21 August) that it has secured JM Cellars, Goose Ridge Estate Vineyards and Winery, Stonecap Wines and Alder Ridge as clients.
JM Cellars family-owned winery has partnerships with vineyards including Klipsun, Champoux, Ciel de Cheval, Alder Ridge, Stillwater Creek and Red Mountain.
Both Goose Ridge Estate Vineyards and Winery and Stonecap Wines are owned by the Monson family and Alder Ridge is owned by the family-run Corus Estates & Vineyards.
Vintage Point president David Biggar said: "JM Cellars and Alder Ridge, along with Goose Ridge and Stonecap typify what is happening in Washington State today. Critics agree that the food-friendly style of their wines - crisp and refreshing for the whites and round and rich with red fruit flavours and soft tannins for the reds - are exactly what consumers are looking for. The trick is getting the wines recognised and into the right trade channels, and that's where Vintage Point comes in."
Vintage Point COO Tom Peterson added: "The Washington wine category is growing at twice the rate of the domestic 750ml varietal category and we believe it's poised for continued explosive growth. We hope to further expand our portfolio of boutique producers from Washington, helping to secure their place in the international wine market."
The winery service specialists formed in March 2006 and offers range of sales and marketing management as well as strategies to retail wines effectively.
Vintage Point's domestic and international clients include Luna Vineyards, Arnold Palmer Wines, Jayson Woodbridge's Hundred Acre, Gold and Pure Love Wines, Mason Cellars, John's Blend and Joseph Carr Vineyards.
