NZ/UK: Villa Maria secures UK deal for Thornbury

By | 13 February 2007

New Zealand wine group Villa Maria has secured a UK on-trade deal for its Thornbury Wines arm.

UK agent Enotria Winecellars will handle Thornbury's wines, a portfolio that focuses on New Zealand's top wine regions and their best-known grape varieties.

Enotria chief executive Alison Levett said: "The addition of Thornbury Wines to our portfolio will bring variety to our New Zealand offering. Thornbury's multi-regional sourcing will encourage customers to experiment with wines outside the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc category."

Enotira is the UK agent for New Zealand wine producers including Trinity Hill and Giesen Wines

Villa Maria, one of New Zealand's largest independent wine producers, bought Thornbury in 2005.
