INDIA: United Breweries states Mohan Meakin overpriced - report
By just-drinks.com editorial team | 1 October 2007
The United Breweries Group has put pressure on fellow Indian brewer Mohan Meakin to drop its sale price, according to reports.
Speaking to shareholders at the group's AGM last week, UB chairman Vijay Mallya reportedly said that the company will not buy Mohan at the price the company is seeking.
The future of Mohan Meakin, since the company's steady decline in market share to less than 8%, has caused intense takeover speculation.
Since January, InBev, Heineken, Anheuser-Busch and SABMiller have each expressed an interest, with SABMiller thought to be the clear frontrunner.
Sectors: Beer & cider
Companies: United Breweries, SABMiller, InBev, Heineken, Anheuser-Busch

According to the present success of UB group what ever they are saying is 100% truth. AS far as of Mohan Meakin are concerned only God knows about their future.
