Workers of Interbrew UK will be balloted by three unions for industrial action, the newspaper the Financial Times said today.

Unions said the ballot is being taken because Interbrew refused to accept national-level bargaining on topics such as redundancy, plant closure, transfers of work and pensions.

The report pointed out that any strike would not affect Christmas beer supplies because of the long lead time the law requires between notices to ballot and the setting of strike dates.
