By | 8 December 2010

Indian spirits firm Tilaknagar Industries has lined up the purchase of Kesarval Springs Distillers in the country, giving the firm the option of entering the Indian wine category, according to local reports.

The company, which previously dealt solely in the production and distribution of spirit and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), is reported to have bought the Goa-based Kesarval for an unspecified amount, India's Business Standard reported earlier today (8 December). The purchase will see Tilaknagar take control of two wine brands, Boxy and Royal Goan, the paper reported.

The company will look to increase production at Kesarval's winery going forward.
Tilaknagar currently owns the Mansion House brandy and Senate Royale Whisky brands.
