The merger of the three Czech breweries, Radegast, Velke Popovice and Plzensky Prazdroj, has been completed, according to an statement made by Prazdroj spokesman, Michal Kacena.

The progress of the merger, approved at annual general meetings in June 2000, had been delayed by four lawsuits from minority shareholders, all of which were defeated.

Kacena said that the rights and duties of the Radegast and Velke Popovice companies have been transferred to Plzensky Prazdroj. All the operations are owned by the UK-based brewing group, South African Breweries (SAB).
