Talks have taken place in an attempt to keep Interbrew's Boddingtons brewery open. Talks took place yesterday between workers at the brewery in Manchester and union officials.

The discussions follow Interbrew's announcement last week that the brewery will close in February next year with the loss of 55 jobs.

Workers and unions spent the weekend in Manchester rallying support for their bid to keep the brewery open. Staff are supported by the likes of the Campaign For Real Ale (Camra), which has pledged to fight plans to close the brewery.
