The Scotch Whisky Association has launched a consumer website.

The UK-based organisation said today (23 January) that will include an interactive distillery tour, video and map. Visitors will also be able to explore the Scotch industry's 500-year history and browse a selection of whisky-based recipes and cocktails.

A 'responsible drinking' section appears on the site, as do details of the association's 53 member companies, their distilleries and their brands.

"Scotch whisky comes alive through our new state-of-the-art website," said Gavin Hewitt, the SWA's chief executive. "We hope that our website will act as an informative and enjoyable gateway to the wider Scotch whisky industry."
