The head of Suntory Beverage & Food's new European unit will also helm Orangina Schweppes Group, the Japanese firm has confirmed.

Stanislas de Gramont will fill the CEO post, vacant since the sudden departure of Jacques Steffens last year, on 1 April, Suntory Beverage & Food told just-drinks earlier today (18 February). Suntory Beverage & Food president Nobuhiro Torii holds the role on an interim basis at Orangina Schweppes, but will relinquish the role when de Gramont steps in.

The appointment of de Gramont is part of a number of changes made since he was installed as head of the newly-created Suntory Beverage & Food Europe last month. On Friday, Suntory announced that it was dissolving its international division, while Orangina Schweppes and Suntory's Ribena and Lucozade unit are to integrate underneath Suntory Beverage & Food Europe.

The move will end speculation over who is in charge at Orangina Schweppes, which Suntory Holdings bought in December 2009. Former CEO Steffens left in August, having only been in the job since March.
