Stolichnaya has lined up a cinema advertising campaign in the UK as part of a fresh global push for the vodka brand.

The vodka will be the subject of the 60-second advert, which will run in over 150 cinemas across the country from Friday (4 May). The adverts form part of the UK effort behind the brand's global 'Choose Authenticity' campaign. Financial details behind the promotion were not disclosed.

"We are very excited about this campaign and the cinema advertising," said Jo Spencer, head of marketing for light spirits at Pernod Ricard UK. The bold and brave creative and unique use of a 60-second cinema advert powerfully reflects the authenticity of Stolichnaya and our research has shown strong consumer appeal."

Stolichnaya is also the focus of a multi-platform sponsorship deal with UK radio station X-FM. Pernod noted that further activity with the tie-up will be rolled out throughout 2007 as part of a GBP1m (US$1.99m) marketing campaign.

Russian state-owned company Soyuzplodoimport owns the Stolichnaya, Moskovskaya and other vodka brands in Russia. The SPI Group, meanwhile, owns the Stolichnaya and Moskovskaya trademarks outside of the country. Pernod Ricard has an exclusive distribution agreement with SPI for both brands. The Stolichnaya Brand Organisation, a stand-alone brand company within Pernod, is responsible for brand management and works with Pernod's affiliates in each market on local sales and marketing plans.
