The Southern Wine & Spirits unit in the US state of Indiana has appointed a sales manager for its Pernod Ricard-led prestige sales division.

The division confirmed today (10 December) that Art Salvi has been appointed vice president, general sales manager of the prestige sales division, which has Pernod-Ricard USA as its initial supplier.

Southern Wine & Spirits noted that it is in discussion with several other suppliers to include their brands in the sales division.

Joining Southern in 1991, Salvi  worked his way up to vice president, chains for Florida with Coastal Wine & Spirits, covering off-premise chains in the state. In 2008, he gained additional responsibilities, overseeing on-premise chains for Coastal.

“I am extremely confident he will strengthen our state-wide operation here in Indiana, leading our newly-created prestige division and taking the Pernod-Ricard USA portfolio and other included supplier brands to new levels of sales growth and distribution coverage across this great state,” said Gerald Rivero, executive vice President, general manager of Southern's Indiana operations.

Salvi's appointment takes effect from 1 January.
