Southern Wine & Spirits of New York has made a number of appointments to its senior management team

Southern Wine & Spirits of New York, a division of Southern Wine & Spirits of America, has made a number of appointments to its senior management team.

The firm announced yesterday (22 November) that it has promoted Jeff DeNicola to vice president, general sales manager of wines for Metro New York, and Jimmy Bonavita to DeNicola's previous role of vice president, general manager of the Pernod Ricard portfolio for New York state.

While the two promotions are effective from 1 January 2011, the firm said the two executives will "work closely on smoothly transitioning their current responsibilities" before the year's end.

Bonavita was previously general sales manager of wines for Metro New York.

Larry Goodrich, executive vice president, general manager of Southern Wine & Spirits of New York, said: "Both Jeff and Jimmy have terrific sales and management skills, and I am confident that each of them will take the performance of both our Metro New York wines as well as our statewide Pernod Ricard portfolio to new levels of sales growth and distribution."
