Société Nationale d'Industries Nutritives (Sonut) is to raise US$14m to help fund its two-year expansion plan. The money will be used to boost the production of plastic-bottled beverages and expand its returnable glass bottle plant.

Sonut, which bottles Schweppes beverages in Egypt, secured the money through a loan commitment from the International Finance Corporation, the World Bank's private sector support agency.

The total cost of Sonut's expansion plans is estimated to be about US$28m.
