Soft drink sales in Norway over the summer hit record levels, according to local reports.

News publication Esmerk said earlier this week that sales of soft drinks in the country from June to August were up by 10% on the corresponding period last year, coming in at 136.9m litres. Citing figures from trade organisation Bryggeri- og Drikkevareforeningen, Esmerk noted that the rise applied to all types of soft drinks, but said that diet soft drinks had levelled off in the period.

The figures constituted a record high for Norway's summer months.
