SodaStream has enlisted Cott Beverages to boost its US syrup capacity as demand in the country increases.

Cott Beverages, a subsidiary of Cott Corporation, will initially produce existing SodaStream flavours at its concentrate production facility in Columbus, Georgia, SodaStream said today (12 March). No financial details have been disclosed.

SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum said: “The increasingly high demand for our flavours in America will now be more easily met by using Cott's manufacturing footprint.”

Birnbaum said the companies will also develop new flavours and products.

In full-year results released last month, Birnbaum said Israel-based SodaStream has a 1% penetration in US households, an increase that helped push FY sales up by 51%.
