UK: S&N denies finance chief approached by Carlsberg

By | 25 June 2007

Scottish and Newcastle has denied press reports that Carlsberg tried to poach its finance director.

Speaking to just-drinks today (25 June), sources close to the company rejected claims that the Danish brewer was trying to poach S&N's finance director.

Speculation begun after a report in the UK newspaper The Sunday Express that Ian McHoul at S&N has been approached by the Danish brewer to fill a similar job there.

A Reuters report today quoted an S&N spokesperson saying: "Ian McHoul has not been approached by Carlsberg. We find the suggestion laughable."
