Winemaker Sean Minor has announced the creation of a California wine brand called Four Bears Winery.

The brand will produce wines from vineyards across the West Coast, with veteran winemaker Will Bucklin of Sonoma County to craft the individual lots for initial Four Bears releases.

Minor said: "I am pleased to share the realisation of my dream with my business partners, my wife and four children, Nick, Elle, Jack and Charlie who are the namesakes of our new venture."

The first wines from Four Bears Winery include a 2002 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, at US$15.00, and a 2005 Central Coast Chardonnay at US$13.00. Both wines are already available in California, Colorado, Texas, Michigan and also through the Four Bears website.
