Sapporo has reviewed its targets for carbon dioxide emissions. The Japanese brewer aims to lower the amount of CO2 it releases by 25% from 1990 levels in 2006.

Sapporo had originally planned to reduce emissions by 12% or more from 1990 levels in 2010, but succeeded in reducing emissions by around 15% in 2003.

The new target refers specifically to the volume of carbon dioxide released for every kilolitre of beer and other effervescent alcoholic beverages made by the company.
