San Miguel Brewery Hong Kong is to close a brewery in Hong Kong, according to reports.
The brewer, whose controlling shareholder, Neptunia Corp. Ltd., is itself controlled by the Philippines' San Miguel Corp., warned today (18 June) that the closure of the facility in the Yuen Long district of Hong Kong, may hit the group's profitability in the short-term, AFX reported.
The brewery is expected to be closed in September, the news service said, which could lead to significant one-time restructuring expenses. Among the options being considered for the brewery, include the production of non-alcoholic beverages or liquor.
