The Philippine-based San Miguel Corp has seen its beer sales jump 12% in its domestic market in the month of April, while in the first four months of the year sales increased 10%.

San Miguel, which is 15% owned by Japan's Kirin Brewery said in a statement: "We confirm that San Miguel's domestic beer volumes for April and the first four months increased by 12% and 10%, respectively."

In the first quarter San Miguel posted a 10% volume growth in local beer sales, fuelling a 12% climb in revenue and a 21% jump in net income in the period.
