VIETNAM: Saigon Beverage profit plummets

Saigon Beverage has posted a plunge in profits for its second quarter.

The soft drinks company said today (24 July) that net profit for the three months to 30 June fell startlingly to VND206m (US$12.9m) from VND1.03bn in the corresponding period a year earlier.

Total revenue for the quarter also slipped, to VND67.21bn from VND77.27bn.

For the six-month period to 30 June, meanwhile, net profit was down to VND427m from VND1.41bn, with sales sliding less drastically to VND129.7bn from VND152bn.
