SABMiller has made moves to attain a US$750m loan. The company has appointed six banks to act as mandated lead arrangers of the syndicated credit facility.

The six banks, one of which announced the development on Tuesday, are ABN Amro Holding, Bank of America Corp, Credit Agricole Indosuez, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, Royal Bank of Scotland Group and Societe Generale.

The brewer will use the new facility to replace its existing $750m syndicated loan from 4 April 2000. The credit facility is expected to be used for general corporate purposes.

Syndication will be launched this week and will focus on SABMiller's key relationship banks, the arranger said.
