COLOMBIA: SABMiller closes water sale to Coca-Cola Co
SABMiller has completed the sale of its Colombian water business to a joint bid from Coca-Cola Femsa and The Coca-Cola Company for US$92m.
The Agua Brisa bottled water business was run by SABMiller's Colombian subsidiary, Bavaria SA.
"The transfer of assets and the commercial operation will be subject to a transition arrangement of several months, during which Bavaria will still be producing, selling and distributing Brisa," SABMiller said today (27 February).
Coca-Cola FEMSA and The Coca-Cola Co received the regulatory green light for their planned purchase of Agua Brisa earlier this month.
The two companies announced in August that they had reached an agreement with Bavaria to acquire Brisa.
Brisa sold 47m unit cases in Colombia in 2008.
