The Russian wing of InBev has been raided by the country's police this week.

A spokesperson for SUN InBev has confirmed to just drinks that Russian authorities visited the unit's headquarters in Moscow yesterday (22 November).

"SUN InBev confirms that its Moscow office was the subject of a document investigation by representatives of the Ministry of the Interior Affairs," the spokesperson said. "Based on the information the company received from investigators, the above actions are related to the investigation launched against two suppliers of the company.

"SUN InBev is fully cooperating in the investigation and providing all necessary assistance to the authorities."

Citing a source close to the situation, Reuters has reported that the raids were linked to a tax-evasion probe.

The spokesperson declined to comment more specifically on the reason for the visit.
