By | 16 June 2009

Wholesale wine trader Richard Dawes Fine Wine has teamed up with Liv-ex, the UK-based fine wine stock exchange, to launch an online trading portal.

The pair are offering private customers free registration and the opportunity to trade the Liv-ex 100 (Fine Wine Index) wines through, the companies said today (16 June).

Richard Dawes Fine Wine's registered private customers will be able to buy and sell fine wines on the site, a service only available previously to merchants and professional traders.

Richard Dawes Fine Wine will take a flat-fee commission of 10% for the service.

The Liv-ex 100 Fine Wine Index represents the price movement of the 100 most sought-after fine wines.

"This is a very forward thinking and transparent way to trade fine wine. Richard Dawes Fine Wine's exciting initiative provides consumers direct and unprecedented access to the international fine wine market and has our full support," said James Miles, director Liv-ex.

Richard Dawes Fine Wine will be running a live trading page linked to Liv-ex, offering up to date information on all live bids and offers.

Customers will have the opportunity to buy and sell brands such as Lafite Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild, Latour, Margaux, Haut Brion and Petrus at the most transparent prices available in the market.
