GlaxoSmithKline is to spend GBP8.5m (US$15.9m) on a marketing package for its flagship still juice brand Ribena.

The UK-based company said today (23 October) that it plans to revamp the brand's packaging next year and launch a Superfruit flavour to boost sales. Ribena will be the subject of a fresh TV campaign, the company added.

Ribena marketing director, Anne MacCaig, said: "In 2007 our GBP8.5m marketing campaign will focus on the unique taste of Ribena, celebrating the range of Superfruit flavours that now make it into Ribena and building excitement around the brand amongst retailers and consumers alike."

Ribena is the leading still juice drink in the UK, according to AC Nielsen figures for the year to 9 September.
