UK: Revolution turns downward over Christmas

By | 8 January 2004

Inventive Leisure, owner of Revolution vodka bars, yesterday announced that it had had a tough Christmas. Revenue at the company's 40 bars was down by 7% over the Christmas and New Year period compared to the same period last year.

In the five months to November 2003, Inventive reported a fall in revenue of 8.5%.
The Guardian reports today that the poor figures could lead to the company being bought by a rival or venture capital group. Sean Curran, finance director for the company, told the Guardian that the rise in competition was to blame for the fall.

In the autumn last year, Inventive issued two profit warnings.
