THE NETHERLANDS: Racke gets Dutch manager replacement

Racke International has appointed a general manager for its Dutch unit.

The Germany-based wine marketer said today (10 January) that Fred Sweers has replaced Jan Slokker at Racke Nederland. Slokker retired on 1 January.

Sweers has previously worked for De Kuyper, Jim Beam and Eckes & Stock. Sweers will report in to Franz Lieven, president of Racke Europe.

"Racke International is looking forward to making further inroads in the Benelux market," the company said.

 In October, Racke reported a 4% lift in turnover from 1 July 2006 to 30 June 2007.  Total worldwide turnover of Racke amounted to EUR95.5m, a 2% growth. Total sales increased by 2% as well and reached 39.9m bottles in fiscal year 2006/2007 compared to 39.2m bottles last year.

Racke markets wine brands in Germany and also operates subsidiaries in Poland, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
