Quadrant Amroq Beverages (QAB) is upping its investment for this year. The Romanian bottling company and distributor said yesterday (17 October) that it will pump US$14.5m into its soft drink operations, marking an increase from the previously announced US$5.9m.

In a statement, QAB general manager Florin Radulescu, said: "Our efforts to increase the investment into new production lines in 2005 are in line with the growth trends of the Romanian soft drinks market."

The company, which is the only bottler of Pepsi-Cola in Romania, will invest around US$8.7m in building a new bottling line for its Pepsi and Prigat beverages, allowing it to double its output of Pepsi beverages.
