Pussy Drinks has secured funding in order to allow it to launch its energy drink globally.

The UK energy drinks producer said today (3 October), that it has received an investment from entrepreneur Richard Branson's children, Sam and Holly, that will allow it to expand the reach of its namesake beverage. Financial details of the investment were not disclosed.

Launched in 2004, Pussy is only currently available in the UK in Selfridges, Tesco stores and online. The firm said it is now finalising a number of global distribution deals in a bid to expand into territories including the US. The energy drink will launch in Russia this month, it said.

In March, Pussy Drinks launched a marketing campaign for its beverage, created by agency Beattie McGuinness Bungay (BMB), who also become a shareholder in the business.
