The Czech brewing force, Prazske Pivovary, part of the Belgian brewing combine, Interbrew, is to decide whether to change its name to Pivovary Staropramen this autumn, according to reports in the Czech Republic.

Prazske Pivovary operates the Staropramen, Branik, Ostravar and Vratislavice breweries, and has been majority-owned by Interbrew since 2000. The name change would reflect the high international profile of its lead export brand, Staropramen, which is a key brand in the Interbrew portfolio.
